Yeah, I’d Twit That

UPDATE: It took a bit of prodding but Twitter support came through and reactivated my account. Big thanks to everyone who helped.

——-

Even though I am a fairly active Twitter user, I always thought it was just a silly, tiny habit. I can kick it any time I want

I enjoyed talking to many people I’ve encountered on Twitter of course, but the whole concept of the service still seemed very insignificant to me.

I’m now sans-Twitter and much to my surprise, I’m actually sweating pretty heavily.

Today, my Twitter account was somehow compromised and subsequently deleted. Odd that someone would hack an account to delete/deactivate it rather than abuse it in some way but hey, to each his own.

I have a ticket logged with Twitter support and while I do hope they can help me, things are not looking good. I was met with a rather disconcerting message on several of the support pages I encountered on my way to submitting the ticket:

Deleted accounts cannot be restored at this time.

That certainly doesn’t bode well.

Hopefully the Twitter team will make an exception considering the deletion of my account was unauthorized and performed without my knowledge.

If not, I’ll likely bail on Twitter because I can’t see myself starting over from scratch. I have to be honest, though — I’m already missing it.

If you are an acquaintance and we contact each other solely via Twitter, ping me using the email link at the top left corner of this page for my details.
